Don't let your child to listen to music too loud. |
Children Health – The World Health
Organization (WHO) said more than 1 billion children at risk of hearing loss as
a result of listening to music at high volume. To mark the Day of International
Ear Care which falls on March 3 last, the UN agency urges parents to ensure their
children lower the volume when listening to music, in order to prevent
permanent damage to their hearing.
Listening to loud volume of music, if done
repeatedly, can damage the sensory cells that can make damage to the hearing,
and the hearing organs will no longer can be cured. WHO said that unsafe sound
levels have some variety, ranging from the level of noise at 85 decibels for 8
hours per day, or 100 decibels for 15 minutes.
WHO said that there are some simple steps to
protect children from unsafe sound levels. One of them is by wearing ear plugs
while attending the concert (Now days, it's been a lot of babies being brought
by their parents to come in music concert!).
Whereas children who prefer to listen to music
through the music player devices or gadgets, in addition to lower the volume,
